About Our Local Community

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is located in Kenwood, California—just a few minutes south east of Santa Rosa on Sonoma Highway-Route 12. Kenwood is in the northern portion of Sonoma Valley which is also known as the Valley of the Moon. The town of Kenwood is a small unincorporated community in Sonoma County. It is surrounded by mountains and vineyards. The population is approximately 1500 and the town hosts a charming center park/square and elementary school. There are several restaurants and wine tasting venues in the town along with interesting shops, a volunteer fire department and a small market. Kenwood is also home of the Kenwood Press a wonderful bi-monthly newspaper which provides interesting articles and news updates relevant to the local area. Just to the south of Kenwood is the Jack London State Park and a bit further south –about 20 minutes is the town of Sonoma.

Serving Our Local Community

Reaching Out

Under this broad umbrella are activities and events that reach out to the broader community, as
well as social justice work undertaken in the spirit of Jesus’ mandate to help “the least of these.”
These activities include the following:

• Hosting the Redwood Empire Food Bank every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 5:00 p.m. in our front parking lot.
• AA & Al Anon meetings at St. Patrick’s on Wednesday evenings.
• Participating in the Kenwood 4th of July festivities by marching in the parade.
• St. Patrick’s Day Dinner.
• Educational activities both at St. Patrick’s and in other venues around the county, to educate people about ways to reduce gun violence. All actions taken are within the guidelines provided by the IRS and the Episcopal Church.
• Faith In Action group. This is a group of parishioners along with people outside of St. Patrick’s who stand with marginalized and oppressed communities and support social justice concerns in Sonoma County and beyond.
