About our Staff

Meet Mack Olson Our New Priest in Charge!

Before accepting the call to be Priest in Charge at St. Patrick’s, the Rev. Mack Olson served as the Missioner for Church Life in the Diocese of Northern California. Before that he was rector at Church of the Epiphany, Vacaville for nearly 10 years.

Mack is a product of this diocese, being ordained to the priesthood by the Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner on March 24, 2012, at St. John’s, Petaluma. Mack has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, Mack worked for nearly 20 years as a student affairs professional, first at the University of Colorado, and most recently at Sonoma State University.  Prior to being called to Epiphany,  Mack trained and worked as a hospital chaplain for two and half years at John Muir Health in Concord, California.

Mack’s spouse is Jeremy Karagan, who is an IT professional for the city of Benicia. They have two boxer dogs named Truman and Wilmer, and an orange tabby cat named Dan.

Mack enjoys travel, cooking (especially traditional Mexican dishes), watching college football (Go Buffs!), and working on his two classic SAAB 900s.

The current Associate Priests are The Rev. Carol Luther, The Rev. L.A. King,  and The Rev. Karen King.

Our music is directed by Mark Kratz who is also an adjunct professor of voice at Santa Rosa, Junior College. He is a much appreciated tenor vocalist as well as choir director for the St Patrick’s Choir. Doug Richardson, a retired pastor in his own right, is our organist and pianist, always ready to accompany Mark and the choir, he engages everyone with his preludes and postludes on organ or piano.
