About our Staff
Meet Mack Olson Our New Priest in Charge!
Before accepting the call to be Priest in Charge at St. Patrick’s, the Rev. Mack Olson served as the Missioner for Church Life in the Diocese of Northern California. Before that he was rector at Church of the Epiphany, Vacaville for nearly 10 years.
Mack is a product of this diocese, being ordained to the priesthood by the Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner on March 24, 2012, at St. John’s, Petaluma. Mack has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, Mack worked for nearly 20 years as a student affairs professional, first at the University of Colorado, and most recently at Sonoma State University. Prior to being called to Epiphany, Mack trained and worked as a hospital chaplain for two and half years at John Muir Health in Concord, California.
Mack’s spouse is Jeremy Karagan, who is an IT professional for the city of Benicia. They have two boxer dogs named Truman and Wilmer, and an orange tabby cat named Dan.
Mack enjoys travel, cooking (especially traditional Mexican dishes), watching college football (Go Buffs!), and working on his two classic SAAB 900s.

Associate Priests
The current Associate Priests are The Rev. Carol Luther, The Rev. L.A. King, and The Rev. Karen King.
Deacon
The Rev. Paul Mallatt serves as our parish deacon and spiritual director, guiding individuals in reflecting on their spiritual lives and relationships with God through attentive listening and dialogue. He received his education in spiritual direction at the University of Redlands Graduate School of Theology.
Paul was among the first graduates of the West Coast Collaborative Episcopal School for Ministry. Upon graduation, he was ordained to the diaconate on January 6, 2024, at Trinity Cathedral in Sacramento by the Rt. Rev. Megan Traquair. He then served for two years as a deacon at the Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa before joining St. Patrick’s.
In addition to his church duties, Paul works as a flight attendant based out of Oakland. He has dedicated over 10 years to serving on his airline’s Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team, providing support to colleagues who have faced traumatic incidents.
He is married to Allan Bolchazy, a local real estate agent, and they live in Oakmont with their two cats, Natasha and Boo.
Our music is directed by Mark Kratz who is also an adjunct professor of voice at Santa Rosa, Junior College. He is a much appreciated tenor vocalist as well as choir director for the St Patrick’s Choir.
Jeremy Griffin, Organ & Pianist, is studying music at Sonoma State for his undergraduate degree. Growing up he remembers his primary musical influence being his dad who played and sang guitar. Now he plays for the people at St Patrick’s as well as Sonoma state.
